Practice update – March 2022

Leeds Road Practice update 23rd March 2022

Extra GP Appointments

We are seeing a significant increase in demand for clinical appointments and particularly GP Appointments. To build resilience into our service we have partnered with North Yorkshire CCG and Push Doctor to provide additional capacity with the option to book a remote video consultation. This service will be offered to you, if appropriate, after speaking to our Patient Services Team. Leeds Road Practice remains open as normal for telephone and Face to Face appointments. Video appointments are simply an enhancement to the services already provided to those who are happy to use video calls via the App and increase the range and number of appointments available. Appointments are available to book 8am to 8pm 7 days a week. If you feel this service may be useful, should you need it, please download the Push Doctor App in advance. You will need to register and provide ID in the same way you did to register for the NHSApp. Equally, we also offer appointments at the Extended Access Hub which are coordinated by Yorkshire Health Network and utilised by all the practices across the area. The sites for these hubs include Mowbray Square Medical Centre in Harrogate, Beech House Surgery in Knaresborough,  and Ripon Hospital in Ripon. These services are for all patients irrespective of where delivered from.

Covid Vaccination Clinics March 2022 and Spring Boosters

We apologise for the delay in publicising further dates  as Primary Care and Yorkshire Health Network have been awaiting confirmation that we can continue to use the  building  at Yorkshire event centre .  With the recent announcement of the Spring booster programme this cohort includes:

  • over 75 years who have had a booster over 6 months ago
  • Severely Immunocompromised and Immunocompromised patients who can receive a booster 91 days after their previous dose. More information in regards to this group is available here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine-people-with-severely-weakened-immune-system/
  • Anybody over 12 who is due a first or second or booster dose

We would ask that patientsbook an appointment via the national booking system as supply is based on number of patients booked into clinics. Therefore if you walk in you may be turned away.
