Current Lockdown – UPDATE

Dear patients,

We just wanted to give everyone an update on the situation currently as we enter the Second National Lockdown. Leeds Road Practice has been busy adapting service delivery models over the last few months ensuring that services provided are in a SAFE manner and environment for Patients and Staff. This has led to some criticism that we aren’t seeing patients in the media and the press. The fact’s however are, that primary care is consulting with more patients than ever albeit in a new way that incorportaes newer technologies where safe and appropriate to do so.

During this second lockdown we have not and do not intend to reduce any services currently provided. However, our staff may also fall ill and are likely to have to isolate so services will be impacted upon in this way. We sk that you are patient with us if your appointment is cancelled for any reason. We will always endeavour to inform you all of any disruption at the earliest opportunity.

We are controlling access to the practice and we therefore reiterate to all our patient s to not turn up early for appointments that are Face to face at the surgery as we may ask you to wait outside especially if we have reached our maximum occupancy in the building. These measures are in place to ensure that we maintain our Covid – secure status that safeguards our patients and staff.

Collections from Dispensary can also continue and we ask that this does continue where possible. We have once again organised a delivery programme for those patients who may be deemed as Clinically Extremely Vulnerable and this will continue whilst this lockdown continues. Again the same access measures are in place but it may only mean a few minutes wait at the door until the someone comes out. For those wanting to help support those more vulnerable or for those requiring extra support please contact the following: https://nhsvolunteerresponders.org.uk/ or To arrange support for yourself or someone you know call 0808 196 3646 (8am to 8pm, 7 days a week).

We are also aware that there are still patients enquiring for Flu vaccines and we have our final flu clinic this Saturday 14th November. Those eligible should have been invited to this clinic in the last few days. By this Saturday we hope to have vaccinated nearly 3800 patients. This is a significant increase to previous years and an achievement we have not normally delivered by this stage in the campaign.

Many thanks

Andrew King
