The DoctorsThe PartnersThe Leeds Road Practice is a group practice. It is therefore possible for you to see any doctor of your choice. Please state what your appointment is for to ensure that the correct time is allocated for the appointment required. The nurses run specialist clinics for patients who suffer from asthma, diabetes and heart disease. They also offer screening (including cervical smears), routine vaccinations, travel advice, health promotion and a telephone advice surgery. The practice nurses are also trained to deal with wound/ulcer dressings, blood tests, suture removal and general nursing advice. District NursesThe district nurses mostly care for people in their own home. They carry out all types of nursing care including help and support for patients and carers. MidwivesThe midwives see patients who are pregnant or have recently given birth. The practice offers ante and postnatal care, involving the GPs and an attached community midwife. Postnatal advice and support are offered to mothers and newborn babies by Dr Quinn, the midwife and the health visitors. Practice Counsellor/Mental Health Link WorkerPatients with emotional problems can be referred by the doctor. PhysiotherapistPatients can be seen both in the practice and at the hospital as appropriate. Dispensary and Medicines ManagerMs Karyl Collin ReceptionistsSenior receptionist – Mrs Helen Stokes Our receptionists ease your day-to-day contact with the clinical team and are trained to deal with your personal details in a sympathetic and confidential manner. They have to pass on sufficient information for the doctors to judge how we can best meet your needs, particularly where you think your problem needs urgent attention, so please give the information they request. AdministrationPractice Administrator - Mrs Kate LomasMrs Lomas and her team are responsible for the efficient handling of your written and electronic medical records. They ensure prompt and effective communication with other organisations such as hospitals, insurance companies and DSS with regards to appointments, medicals and other requirements. |
